I specialize in two distinct but deeply connected areas. My academic research and clinical work have centered on religious trauma, including the process of psychological recovery from high-control religious groups and cultic systems. Through this work, I’ve explored how coercive belief structures shape identity, autonomy, and relational patterns long after a person has left the group. View 5 Photos My research revealed that many from high-control religious groups are also neurodivergent, often with autism or ADHD. Their empathy and moral insight made them both attuned and vulnerable in such systems. This led me to focus my practice on helping neurodiverse adults and families heal from control, shame, and exclusion.
