The single most important factor predicting a successful outcome in therapy is the quality of the relationship between client and therapist. As you look for a therapist, keep in mind: feeling like that person really gets you is the priority. I am licensed in Alabama and Tennessee and have over 20 years of experience with a wide range of mental health settings and concerns. I use a systemic (relational) framework to help people balance autonomy and connection in relationships, to better communicate their needs while listening to the needs of others, and to establish a clear sense of who they are. I specialize in trauma recovery, long-term recovery from addictions, and couples and families dealing with relationship conflict, infidelity, discernment about the future, life stage adjustment, or simply pursuing growth and change. I use evidence based practices such as EMDR, Bowen Family Systems Theory, and DBT. I am a Certified Gottman Couple Therapist.
