The ideal client is someone who has an awareness of a need for change. Perhaps the client has been told by a significant other that they have things to work on in a relationship. Maybe the client has a hard time focusing on work, or the opposite-is a workaholic. Sometimes the client wants to learn how to be a better parent. In other situations, the client might have been told that he drinks too much, or the client wants to quit or cut down. Sometimes the client has had interaction with law enforcement as in a DUI or other serious charges that involved drinking.
