Welcome! I commend you for taking the first and hardest step towards making a change in your life. As a licensed mental health counselor, I have almost a decade of providing support and counseling to individuals and groups struggling with substance use/addiction, trauma, depression, anxiety, co-occurring disorders, and family/relationship issues. I do not believe in the "ideal" client - I believe in the ideal therapist and the therapeutic power of consistently listening to understand, building trust, demonstrating respect and genuine interest, and practicing empathy and acceptance in each session and with every client.
