My name is Whitney Delphos, and I am a licensed mental health counselor in New York holding a PhD in mental health counseling. My approach to counseling is based on the idea that people need to be intrinsically motivated in order to achieve positive changes in their lives. Therefore, I offer a directive, client-centered approach to support a secure setting where clients can start to examine and resolve their ambivalence surrounding their concerns. With my counseling philosophy, I have found that it helps clients to find fulfilling reasons to make productive changes.
