About
The time we live in today is increasingly stressful and complex for young people and families who are grappling with post-pandemic fears and health issues, in addition to complex family histories, relationships, identity issues, social media pressures and educational expectations. Many feel stuck, anxious and/or depressed, which comes out in their behavior. As the young person or their caregiver, you are understandably concerned. You want to learn why this is happening and how to make the hardship ‘go away’. Mental health is not just in the mind, but a function of the body, spirit, social influence and environment as well. In my roles as a therapist, 16-year school teacher, mentor, spiritual guide, and mother, I have helped youth and their families navigate issues of depression, anxiety, identity & spiritual crises, and school-related academic, behavioral and social concerns. I’ve worked with people from a variety of racial/ethnic backgrounds and gender/sexual orientations.
