Ellen Dorfman believes that the client is the ultimate expert. She prefers to accompany clients on the journey of their choosing, assuming the role of guide rather than tour director. Ellen is most interested in what can be learned from the clients as they bring issues of trauma, and loss. Those with grief, loss, depression, and personal growth and identity issues make up much of her practice. In 1996 Ellen completed Level II training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an effective treatment for anxiety, stress and trauma. She is trained to administer the EMDR Flash Technique, a highly effective and relatively non evocative treatment for traumatic stress and has been practicing with Flash fore seven years.
