Saludos! My name is Emely Tobar and I am a dedicated Bilingual Spanish-speaking clinician committed to practicing within a decolonial therapy and abolitionist social work framework. Understanding the importance of intersectionality, I am dedicated to addressing issues related to race, gender, sexuality, and socioeconomic status. In my practice, I use anti-oppressive interventions and strategies, as well as trauma-informed coping skills. My practice is rooted in abolitionist principles, with liberation in mind, envisioning a world where mental health care is accessible, equitable, and affirming for all. I'm a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. However, I consider flexibility to be a crucial element of the therapeutic process. To support your evolving needs, preferred learning styles, & goals, I will incorporate various therapeutic approaches within my scope of practice & competence.
