About
Therapy with Emma is grounded in the belief that you are not broken. Many ways people cope, including anxiety, shutdown, hypervigilance, or substance use, are adaptive responses to lived experience. Emma takes a compassionate, trauma-informed approach that honors how the nervous system protects us while supporting meaningful, sustainable change. Her work is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), Coherence Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, attachment-based care, and harm-reduction approaches. Together, clients gently explore attachment wounds, grief, loss, and systems-level trauma without shame or judgment. Emma practices from a decolonial, social-justice-oriented lens, recognizing the impact of oppression, marginalization, incarceration, and systemic injustice on mental health. Therapy with Emma is collaborative and attuned, offering space to feel seen, build nervous system capacity, and move toward healing at a pace that feels right.
