Contrary to popular opinion, I do not believe in safe spaces as a viable, long term solution to anyones’ challenges, unless you’re willing to sacrifice your autonomy and allow fear to dictate how you live. However, I firmly believe that therapy should be a safe place to explore the issues that are creating fear and discomfort. Life is chaotic and unpredictable, and while there is a time and place for utilizing safe spaces, they should only be used in the short term. I’m very invested in empowering my clients to foster bravery, resilience, and perseverance so they are well equipped to navigate the challenges life throws their way.
