About
Do you ever feel like you don't always have the words to describe your experience, or that you feel more stuck the longer you talk about the issue? Truthfully, it's quite common and completely understandable to say “I don’t know” when asked to describe how you feel. It might feel too much or simply too hidden. But it doesn’t mean the insight and inevitably the change you are looking for isn’t there. We might just need a different approach. Ironically, what I’ve seen in my work over the last 10+ years as a mindfulness-based therapist, is that the less talking we do in the moment, the more the words come. That doesn’t mean we sit in silence for 50 minutes though! We will explore where and why you’re stuck, and invite the messiness of that conflict into the session. That's when we'll use mindfulness and somatic exercises, so ideally, you have a greater chance at staying with all sides of that "I don't know" feeling. Walk towards uncertainty, not away from it.
