I practice relational and emotionally-focused therapy with individuals and couples. Many of my clients might consider themselves to be independent, self-reliant, low-maintenance, and sensitive, yet contained. Often resulting from some developmental emotional neglect, trauma, or environments where emotional expression was restricted. The resilience that it takes to succeed in spite of the shaky foundation that you might have sprung from can quite frankly be exhausting, and make it hard to connect with both yourself and close loved ones with real vulnerability.
