Growing up in a non-traditional and economically underprivileged household, I experienced the kinds of hardship and adversity that come along with poverty, generational trauma, depression, and anxiety. I believe that a person’s environment has an undeniable impact on their physical and mental health and well-being. As such, one of my goals as a counselor is to help people develop the skills necessary to navigate and overcome the challenges they face in light of their background and provide them with a safe environment to grow and empower them to change in the ways they hope to through the power of self-agency.
