About
Especially in today's world, parenting adolescents can feel like a no-win situation. My goal is to help parents and teens see "eye to eye" and understand each other's perspectives and goals in a way that results in collaboration rather than the typical resistance that occurs in adolescence. Whether an adolescent is 12 or 20, they likely have a very different experience of the world from you, which makes it hard to understand each other. Whether it is short-term conflict resolution or long-term relationship building, my goal is to help you and your child have a healthy relationship and a better understanding of each other. I have practiced with tweens, teens, and adults for twenty years and have treated a range of disorders. Although I draw from different schools of thought as appropriate for the individuals I am working with, I rely heavily on DBT and CBT skills. I am experienced in teaching DBT Skills, and can offer individual skills training for adults and/or teens.
