I have been a therapist for about 23 years. I work in schools in addition to this work, which adds to my experience working with clients of all ages and families. I have also worked for various agencies, which gives me a good sense of available resources in the community. I think that people grow through connecting with others and feeling heard and understood. The first appointment is about gathering history - about the problem and about the client and family. I think I have a nurturing, empathetic approach, really listening to the client to understand their feelings and needs. I think that anyone willing to talk through what is going on in his/her life and to consider alternate perspectives will be able to find healing.
