The ideal client is someone that is willing to put in the work. You must be willing to participate in your own therapy, as it is not a one-sided transaction. The trick with therapy is that the more willing you are to explore and share about yourself, the more beneficial it is to you. The journey is as important as the destination and the detours provide for some amazing insights. Consistency is also key. Think of therapy as another form of self-care. I have worked in multiple settings from working in a group home, substance abuse clinic, in-home therapy with both families and individuals and done clinical training. My exposure has been with adults that run the gamut of psychiatric disorders. I have an eclectic approach.
