While studying family systems theory, I found explanations for unhealthy patterns in my own family and often felt alone, misunderstood, and stuck. Seeing systems fall short of their mission led me to community organizing and activism, building power through relationships to drive change. Inspired by the civil rights movement, I believe in the power of people and love to create lasting change. We can unknowingly surrender that power to others, but community organizing helps us reclaim it. As a therapist, I apply these principles to help clients access their innate sovereign power. By connecting feelings in my body to past trauma and cultural systems, I’ve made life-changing shifts. I’ve studied biology, religion, psychology, energy medicine, and healing practices. Healing comes from creating connections across all these systems in time and space.
