A person who comes to see me has been dealing with past and present interpersonal (external, person-to-person) and intra-personal (internal) issues and conflicts and would like to address them through therapeutic relationship and intervention. They want to get help with things they have experienced in their past that are affecting their present-day functioning. They may have found that they are experiencing depressive or anxiety symptoms and don’t know how to cope. They have felt like they are ”at the end of their rope.” Often they have turned to substances and found that those just make things worse.
