My ideal client is one who knows they are in need of help and are eager to take an active role in their own counseling. I encourage clients to journal, in session and after the session, to make their own record of issues covered, directions that emerged from the counseling session, to journal thoughts and feelings between sessions, and to list issues and questions to address in their next session. For counseling clients, my goal is to help them effectively and efficiently to resolve the issues that brought them into counseling. For coaching clients, my goal is to assist them to achieve excellence in the area of their choosing.
