About
Trauma Lives in the Body, Not the Event Trauma is not defined by the event itself, but by the nervous system’s inability to return to a regulated state afterward. Even seemingly minor experiences can become traumatic when the body cannot fully process them. Human connection shapes our experience—relationships give us meaning, and purposeful work grounds us. When these are disrupted, our sense of stability is shaken, often leading to overwhelm and collapse. Because trauma is fundamentally relational, so too is healing. A safe, attuned therapeutic relationship is often the foundation for recovery.
