Originally from California, J.R. studied biology and philosophy at Berkeley. Shortly thereafter, he retired to the Jackson community where he has been in service (and skiing) ever since. More recently, J.R. witnessed a rather miraculous healing of a family member that made him curious about just what mental health means, and about the variety of ways available to us to enhance it. He took that curiosity to Adams State University where he received his MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
