Twenty-five years into it, I still love being a counselor and psychotherapist. It is an honor and a privilege to be involved in the personal struggle and transformation of each client, couple, and family I see. I regard therapy more as an art than a science, though I certainly utilize current research in my practice. Most often my clients present problems in living rather than "mental illness" per se and they appreciate my attention to their strengths, resources, and spiritual concerns.
