Working in hospice has taught me that even in life’s most difficult moments, connection, dignity, and compassion can create profound healing. Having worked as both the psychosocial worker on the team working with the patient and family before the death and as the bereavement specialist working with the family after the death, I have supported individuals and families as they navigate the emotional, spiritual, and relational challenges that arise at the end of life and in the grief that follows.
