I have worked directly with children in the mental health field for 10 years, and before that, I spent 16 years as a foster and adoptive parent. I find great joy in supporting families and helping their children build strong connections within their family or their community and understand their emotions so they can develop coping skill to handle life's challenges. At Journey Together Child Counseling, my goal is to help children build resilience, discover their strengths, and enjoy being a kid! I work one-on-one with children to help them understand their emotions and how it relates to their behavior, whether that be anger, low self-esteem, worry or grief. We focus on building healthy coping skills & finding positive ways to handle difficult situations.
