The Riverbend Group, LLC is a small psychotherapy practice located conveniently on the Newton/Wellesley border right off of route 128. Both Jessica Ames, LICSW and Deborah McMakin Ed. D, LICSW have over 20 years of clinical experience working with children and adults. Jessica specializes in psychotherapy, EMDR, and grief counseling. Having lived for several years in a Buddhist community and as a teacher of MBSR (mindfulness based stress reduction), she enjoys teaching meditation and utilizing buddhist psychology with interested clients.
