Hello! Most people call me Jess. I'm a lover of animals, an avid traveler, and a person who attends counseling. Kudos to starting this search for yourself! Seeking a counselor can be an arduous journey, and at the same time, it is a brave act of self-care. I see the world through a constructivist/relational lens, which means I believe the client is the expert of their world, and I function as a chosen partner to help create and work toward goals. The same goes for kids and teens. I believe that it is difficult to navigate big feelings or life experiences when one does not have the words to explain what emotional impacts are happening. Clients finding their voice and sense of self is important. For this, I draw upon various techniques and interventions that foster growth and facilitate connection with others.
