We are more than the stories we have been told about ourselves; however, learning to let go of these narratives or rewrite them in a more compassionate way can be challenging. Mindful of the impact of trauma and systems of oppression, I'll work with you to identify clues that tell us when you're feeling overwhelmed and more likely to fall back into unhelpful patterns of thought and behavior. I use our therapeutic relationship as a mirror and a safety net to encourage both self-insight and self-compassion. I understand the importance of meeting clients where they are at, a practice I bring from my time as a former classroom teacher.
