Dr. Backfield-Weiss brings considerable clinical experience, intelligent understanding, emotional warmth, and thoughtful creativity to her clinical work with culturally diverse adults, couples, and families struggling with unproductive behavior patterns; unstable mood and emotional states; the pain of combined medical and psychological distress; and in helping individuals negotiate all forms of creative and emotional expression. Her experience also encompasses extensive work in the field of rehabilitation medicine, the teaching and training of doctoral students at Columbia University, and her own training in fine arts and design.
