I have worked in a variety of different roles over the years which include individual and family counselling, being a member of a mobile crisis intervention team, working in a hospital setting in the maternity unit, pediatric unit, and on site outpatient health clinic. I most recently was working in an all male correctional facility offering support to both the inmate's and their families. I consider myself to be a generalist and have supported people of all ages with a wide variety of situations. During our first session I take the time to get to know each person, by asking some general as well as background questions. I believe that this is a good way to learn what has played a role in shaping the person into who they are now. I will also ask you to prioritize your needs and develop a treatment plan to accomplish your goals.
