While problems are typically what cause people to seek therapy, I've noticed that what really characterizes the individuals and couples I work with is their creative ability, with the right client-therapist cooperation, to envision and achieve preferred futures—the satisfying lives and relationships they do want for themselves, without the problems they don't. Some of the issues I commonly help clients navigate along the way include unskillful communication and negative cycles in relationships; attachment insecurity; trauma; anxiety; depression; and serious mental illness.
