As a therapist, I work not as a "shrink" but an "enhancer," helping clients work through past problems, engage the challenges of the present, and move towards a more fulfilling future. I am client-focused rather than technique-focused because each client-therapist relationship is unique, and techniques should be employed selectively to optimize change and growth. That said, clients can expect that I will: 1) Act as a strong ally, adding emotional and intellectual energy to their efforts to change, 2) Provide insight and fresh perspective that takes them beyond their usual patterns of perceiving and responding to life circumstances.
