While many of my patients seek support for the effects of heightened stress, I have particular expertise as a licensed addiction counselor, and I have spent many years working with family members too. My patients are curious to explore the broad dimensions of their lives, and uncover, and change destructive patterns. Never a day goes by that I fail to appreciate the privilege I’ve been given to share in this process of change. While the challenges of addictive families are indeed unique, the overturning of effective coping strategies is generalizable. The acquisition of improved skill sets can markedly improve these.
