A "corrective" relationship, balancing empathy, attunement, and validation of experience with compassionate confrontation. I come from a place of wanting the best for you and wanting to help you reach your potential. Engaging in therapy can mean stretching, digging, looking at hard things. It's not always easy to jump in. But therapy itself can be a "corrective experience" where someone is coming alongside you as a witness to your pain, your story, someone who really wants to understand you.
