Seeking to connect with a therapist or counselor during challenging times in our lifetime is a courageous act; one in which is not to be taken lightly. As a first-generation immigrant, familiarity with cultural norms and expectations can be oftentimes misunderstood. Each of us have our own unique familial and cultural ways of engaging and navigating in relationships and handling marital issues, family conflicts, work stressors, and even our self-worth and self-care.
