Feeling eager to open up to a complete stranger, vocalizing all of your deepest, most intimate struggles and challenges? Probably not the first choice that comes to mind, but you are not alone. Many of my clients have arrived with similar reservations while facing issues such as depression, anxiety, grief/loss, family dynamics, relationships, life transitions, work conflicts and career exploration. My approach is two-fold, with the first focusing on the interaction between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. The second is to explore how your environment, family, school or social setting influenced your worldly view and actions. Have you seen movies or shows where therapy is depicted as the client talking and the counselor nods along while listening? Me too, but my style is to create a more natural conversation in our sessions. A main goal of mine is to provide a safe environment where you can feel comfortable and trusting in the process, to stimulate the most progress.
