I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a Army veteran. When you’re overwhelmed by memories you can’t silence, haunted by hypervigilance, or exhausted from carrying emotional weight alone, daily life can feel exhausting and unsafe. You might find yourself avoiding situations you once enjoyed, second-guessing decisions, or feeling numb when you want to feel grounded. Many people who’ve served or responded to trauma tell me they want peace more than relief — a life where they can show up for themselves and others without feeling depleted or on edge.
