As an LCSW who has worked with addiction, disordered eating, and veterans, I believe my varied experience now allows me to connect and work well with anyone seeking mental health support. It can be difficult trying to navigate life's ups and downs on your own, so I applaud a person for acknowledging they may need help. Of course, that help varies from person to person. But, while we cannot stop negative thoughts from popping up, it is possible to lessen their power and change how we react to them. And, while we cannot change the past, we can use it as a tool to better each new day and look forward to the future.
