Kate believes that the heart of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist, and as such she works to co-create relationships with clients that are built around trust, accountability, and genuine care. She believes that therapy can offer a space for deep reflection and processing as well as for developing practical skills to better navigate life’s obstacles. Kate has a passion for exploring relationships, both the ones we have with others and with ourselves. She is drawn to questions and challenges regarding communication, emotional vulnerability, and intimacy–in whatever form it may take. Kate is a CBT trained therapist, and incorporates other modalities and perspectives as appropriate including Motivational Interviewing, DBT, Exposure Therapies, Sex Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and Relational Cultural Theory. Kate is a graduate of the Crown Family School of Social Work at the University of Chicago.
