I'm both honored and humbled to be allowed the opportunity to work with those seeking mental health services within the community. The rapport building is a unique journey with each client and one where the challenges and the rewards begin. Sometimes, it's working to decrease the disconnections and mistrust, and sometimes it works to increase connections and trust. Either way, my hope is to help improve each client's functioning one day at a time. I enjoy working with adults in general; I have recently had the pleasure of working with the older population who have been rejected and marginalized within the professional community. Highlights include the, "ah-ha" moments when learning culminates into insight about how past trauma-laden behaviors have been linked to their faulty beliefs about themselves. This realization creates the possibility that these beliefs can be changed in the present to bring about a different outcome.
