As an experienced Licensed Social Worker, I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults from various backgrounds. I believe my role as a clinician is to assist others in taking control of their circumstances to achieve their own goals, thereby helping themselves and others to maximize the quality of their lives. My educational background assumes a developmental approach which explains growth, change, and consistency though the lifespan in biological, social, emotion, and cognitive areas. Developmental psychology looks at how thinking, feeling, and behavior effect one’s health and perspective. A developmental approach utilizes psychoeducation to describe, to explain, and to optimize development; it recognizes typical pathways of development but acknowledges that no two persons are exactly alike and considers these differences in practice.
