My practice is increasingly focused on working with dynamics of estrangement between family members. These estrangements include parents and adult children, as well as adult sibling estrangement. When families are young, children and parents often form very close, bonded, loving relationships. As children mature, and eventually leave home, families can wind up struggling to grow in order to continue satisfying relationships. Adult siblings also find maintaining loving relationships can be challenging. Working together in family therapy can help improve communication, address concerns and heal wounds and misunderstandings.
