Kendall provides a dynamic, relationally focused, integrated approach to the treatment of substance-related disorders, addiction, and other commonly co-occurring disorders. She believes that the duality that has historically existed in the substance abuse/addiction field and the broader mental health field impedes client outcomes. She aids clients in gaining insight into the function of addiction in their lives, enhancing distress tolerance, and developing adaptive coping mechanisms. She emphasizes the ongoing cultivation of supportive, differentiated, interpersonal relationships to enhance prognosis for long-term recovery.
