One major life event, one crisis, one devastating loss and any of us could need the support we're trained to provide. There's no hierarchy here, just humans helping humans. I'm Kessy and I was born in Haiti but I moved to the US at seven. That early experience of displacement and adaptation taught me about resilience before I had words for it. Originally headed to law school, I stumbled into social work while advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities. One Google search for "advocacy professions" changed my entire career path.
