A bow of welcome to you! Taking the first step of exploration into suffering, challenging life circumstances, overwhelming emotions, and conflicts with others takes courage! One observation that I have made over my years doing therapy is that the “sicker” people are, the less they play. People who feel stuck struggle to shift their perspectives; cling to overused actions that are no longer serving them; and get mired in stories about themselves, others, and the world that keep them stuck. Our "symptoms" are an invitation for us to pay attention and take active steps to live the life we desire.
