My goal in providing psychotherapy is to approach the problems clients bring into therapy as issues that they can fix using greater self-awareness, new skills and therapeutic tools. that they learn in therapy. Whether the problem is anger, anxiety, trauma, grief, helplessness or depression, or their belief that there is something wrong with them (guilt, shame, childhood abuse, ADHD, Autism, LGBTQ+) or that they do not deserve to be treated with respect and dignity or valued because of who they are, the initial step is to talk about what is important to the client and validate the client's needs and desires.
