About
I'm a psychologist who works with children, adolescents and adults, specializing in loss, trauma, and family issues, in English and Spanish. I use integrative, strengths and evidenced-based therapy. I believe that humans are inherently wired for resilience. In particular contexts, our once-healthy coping skills may prevent us from returning to our adaptive core. In therapy, I urge patients to learn to experience and tolerate emotions, access instinctive coping capacities, and build a flexible mindset. This method allows patients to uncover strengths, and deepen their sense of hope, leading lives filled with vitality and exuberance. Formerly an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Attending Psychologist at Montefiore/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I received my Ph.D and masters from Columbia University, my postdoctoral fellowship at New York University School of Medicine/Bellevue with 9/11 first-responders.
