As a school counselor and therapist, I have spent much of my career walking alongside the families of adolescents and young adults as they experience stress, depression, anxiety, school avoidance, recovery from trauma, grief and loss, and developmental life transitions. My favorite clients are moms who reach out to me because their kid needs support, but then they end up making an appointment for themselves because they realize that is actually the most effective way to support their kid! In other words, resilient caregivers have more to give, and create resilient kids as they lead by example.
