It has long been my view that the first step in healing and working through your issues is feeling understood. Although, there are a number of techniques that we can employ together for growth and change, my first goal is to understand you, your issues, and where you're coming from. Once understanding has progressed, we can adopt a plan that takes you as a whole person into consideration. I believe that different approaches work for different people and don't believe "in a one size fits all" or a "cookie-cutter" approach to therapy.
