She utilizes an integrative approach, including CBT, combining both short & longer term strategies to treat adolescents and adults. Dr. Heckelman also specializes in grief work and in treatment of couples using a solution-based, here-and-now approach. She works part-time in West Orange, NJ and part-time in NYC. Dr. Heckelman is Director of Psychology Training at MSSLW & Assistant Professor Of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai's Icahn School of Medicine. Accepts some insurances and offers some weekend hours.
