I realize that all of these profiles start to sound alike, especially when you're already feeling overwhelmed. And all the different types of therapy can add to the confusion. In 25 years of practice, I've learned that it is the client-therapist relationship, more than the modality that heals. My clients appear successful but struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, and self-sabotage. Many have spent years prioritizing others and lost touch with what they want for themselves. These struggles have roots in early experiences where it wasn't safe to be fully authentic. They're stuck in survival mode and are exhausted.
